In honor of her grandmother who had a popular café in 1950s, the founder of “Älskade traditioner” left her job as a restaurant manager to open the café! Here she preserves furniture, ceramics and other items passed down from grandparents, letting visitors take a nostalgic trip through family memories. In Stockholm, it’s truly a “Beloved Tradition”, which the name literally also translates to in Swedish.
The staff are all super friendly and adorable and the counter is filled with treats like the classic “Kanelbulle” (cinnamon rolls) and ice creams. All the tastly looking choices made it hard to decide!
We ordered a Shake and Waffles – Perfect for Sweet-Tooth Anders and hungry me!

Both the “Strawberry Fields Forever” shake and the “Skogens Guld” (Gold of the Forest) waffle were really delicious!
Waffles reached their peak in Sweden at the beginning of the last century and became a classic fika treat. At this café, they’ve also perfected savory “Wraffles” (wrap-style waffles).
