🇩🇰🏨Top Hotel Pick in Copenhagen, Denmark – And the Breakfast is My Absolute Favorite!

During the Christmas holidays, when we visit Anders’s family in Skåne in southern Sweden, we usually make a short shopping trip to Denmark as well. This time, I’m introducing one of our favorite hotels where we always stay. It’s located right in the center of Copenhagen, close to the station and shopping streets -and the breakfast is amazing! Highly recommended, so be sure to check it out.

Hotel Name: The Square
📍 Rådhuspladsen 14, Copenhagen, Denmark
🌐 Website: https://www.thesquare.dk
💰 Price: About 895 DKK for two people (around 1,200kr)
※ Prices and details are based on December 2025, so please double-check before booking.

🚇 Nearest Station: Rådhuspladsen (Metro)

🗺️ Nearby Attractions:
Copenhagen City Hall, which houses Jens Olsen’s World Clock, and the Rådhuspladsen Square are right in front of the hotel. The area is also very convenient, with metro access, the famous shopping street – Strøget, supermarkets, and even Starbucks nearby.

The lobby has been renovated and now looks absolutely luxurious!

After check-in time at 3:00 PM, we headed straight to the room!

The room design hasn’t changed – still clean, cozy, and just the right size.

And the best part of this hotel? Definitely the breakfast!

The drink selection ranges from coffee and other hot drinks to vegetable juice and ginger shots – and everything tastes great.

The food selection is huge too – everything from bread and salads to ham, cheese, cereals, fruit, and even classic Danish pastries. There’s so much to choose from that it’s hard to decide… which is why I always end up eating way too much on the first morning ↓

Nordic cheese never disappoints! As usual, I rolled up the cheese and ate it all, and by the end my stomach felt ready to burst. I had to waddle outside like a giant, stomping with every step!

Last time I visited, my favorite hash browns and crispy bacon were on the breakfast spread, but this time I didn’t see them even once – such a bummer!

And once again, I ate too much on the first morning, so lunch ended up being late. By dinner time, I still wasn’t hungry, so we went back to the hotel first and then headed out later for a late-night snack!

Here’s a record of the late-night snacks I picked up at the NETTO supermarket near the hotel.

↓ The nut mix on the far left is still my favorite – I even wish I had bought more to take home! It’s a perfect mix of sweet chocolate lentils, dried fruit, and salty nuts, with just the right amount, and the basket-style container makes it easy to snack from.
The chips in the middle have a perfectly crunchy sour cream flavor, nothing special but still tasty.
As for the sandwich on the right, I didn’t realize it was vegetarian when I bought it, and it didn’t taste great, so I won’t be getting that one again… I think Anders tried to trick me into eating more healthy!

This is how we make our Nordic Life Colorful! Enjoy your day!
