Founded in 2018 by Richard Hart, a former head baker at San Francisco’s renowned Tartine Bakery, Hart Bageri was born after Richard moved to Copenhagen. The bakery was opened with the support of René Redzepi, co-owner of Noma, the world-famous restaurant that has repeatedly been named the best in the world and awarded three Michelin Stars.

This time, we chose the location right outside Marmorkirken Station, but Hart Bageri has several branches around Copenhagen, making it easy to stop by wherever it fits best into your travel plans.
A tempting lineup of breads and pastries that blend Danish tradition with international craftsmanship – full of artisanal charm and impossible not to get excited about.

My favorite is the Cardamom Croissant 💰42DKK(60SEK), something I haven’t seen in Sweden yet! I ended up with powdered sugar all over my face and clothes while eating it

I’m a huge croissant fan, and this one is dangerously addictive – the butter is just right, the texture is perfectly moist, and you’ll want more with every bite. Beware!

Among the Nordic countries, Danes seem pretty strong when it comes to the cold! During the coldest time of the Christmas holidays, they’re eating outside in their jackets like it’s nothing. Even here, stylish folks were enjoying iced lattes and pastries outdoors.

We stayed inside and enjoyed pastries with a hot coffee.

I meant to take the Spandauer 💰38DKK (55SEK) to go, but ended up eating it right away! Filled with marzipan and vanilla custard, this traditional Danish pastry is irresistibly crispy for all pastry lovers.

They also sell stylish tea tins, coffee beans, and even tote bags featuring the brand’s logo.

All in all, the sweetness, crispiness, and moistness are just perfect – definitely stop by this stylish bakery if you get the chance!

Right in front of the bakery, you’ll find a must-see landmark: the largest domed church in the Nordic countries!
