🇩🇰🎲 Bastard Café, Copenhagen: Cozy Board Game Café with Nordic Vibes – Hours, Prices & How to Book

A hidden-gem board game café with thousands of games on the shelves – loved by everyone from beginners to hardcore gamers, and even people who just want a drink or a nice meal.

Café name: Bastard Café
Address: Rådhusstræde 13, København, Denmark
There’s also an outdoor bar area, so I bet it gets even more lively in summer!

When I hear “board game café”, I tend to imagine something a bit nerdy and noisy… but Nordic board game lovers are stylish, well-mannered, and the whole place feels calm and comfortable. That cozy atmosphere is my favorite point.

Maybe it’s because of the wooden tables, but even when people are playing, it doesn’t feel clattery or loud. The lighting is also bright enough for games, yet soft and gentle – everything is designed to feel welcoming. Almost like at home!

This time we didn’t have time to play, so we ordered food and drinks at the counter in the back.

They also have craft beer options, which I personally loved!

Since it was lunchtime, we ordered two toast sandwiches and shared half-and-half.

Both were 65 DKK .
Both were delicious – and here’s the “proof photo” of the melty cheese on the Tuna Meltdown↓

💳 Membership pricing

  • Annual membership: 150 DKK for the first year

It looks like the membership includes things like board game access and discounts.

And since it’s the Nordics, they of course have plenty of games in English. Plus, their knowledgeable staff (called “gurus”) can help explain the rules – so it’s a super friendly spot even if you’re not confident with board games.

🎲 They even have a dice “gacha” machine! 10 DKK

If you want to experience a very Nordic kind of “social vibe,” I’d definitely recommend it as a fun sightseeing stop too!
