So I tried several other brands instead, but most of them looked almost black once applied. I had pretty much given up, but one day I suddenly remembered and asked a staff member at the Swedish department store Åhléns. That’s when they introduced me to this one!

What does Vatn Volume 38°C mean?
“Vatn” means “water” in Icelandic. This mascara is water-resistant and designed to withstand daily exposure to water, while still being removable with warm water above 38°C.
ℹ️ What I love about it:
- A vivid blue shade that does not look too close to black
- Resistant to moisture such as water, sweat, and tears, yet removable with warm water above 38°C
- The slim elastomer brush makes it easy to separate the lashes while applying
- It adds volume, and the finish can be adjusted by layering
♻️ More environmentally conscious packaging
The outer box is sorted as paper, while the bottle, cap, and brush are sorted as plastic packaging. According to the official brand information, the bottle is made from 100% recycled material.
💁🏻♀️ How I use it:
Recently, I’ve been enjoying the natural, softly flowing curl I get when I use only this blue mascara. But if you want to lift your lashes and keep the curl in place, I recommend using it together with a waterproof mascara.
For example, I first apply my usual Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Waterproof, then layer this blue mascara on top.
