๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Why BASTA ร…hlรฉns Became Our Most-Visited Italian Restaurant in Stockholm

There are many great Italian restaurants in Stockholm. Some have that one signature dish everyone recommends, while the rest of the menu can feel just okay. But at BASTA ร…hlรฉns, everything is consistently well-made and tasty. Even without a standout “must-order” dish, and even without affogato as dessert on the menu, it’s somehow become the Italian restaurant we visit most often.

๐Ÿ˜ Why do we keep coming back?

๐Ÿ“ Location

First of all, the location.

It’s located on top of ร…hlรฉns City, the department store where I do most of my shopping. Whenever I get tired after shopping, it somehow feels natural to end up having a meal here.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Italian Atmosphere

The colorful and cheerful Italian-style interior is simply adorable! The atmosphere makes you forget for a moment that you’re in Sweden. It’s also a great place to meet friends for lunch.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Staff

The staff are always friendly, and even their aprons look stylish with their leather straps.

๐Ÿ‹ Cute Details

Everything from the condiment holders to the napkins is thoughtfully designed. I love how much attention they pay to the small details and overall atmosphere.

โ›ฑ๏ธ Terrace

The terrace is a huge bonus during summer. You can enjoy the sunshine while taking in views of Stockholm.

๐Ÿท Bar

Another thing worth mentioning is the stylish bar, perfect for a date night or simply stopping by for a drink on your own.

๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ๐Ÿด Food

The menu offers enough variety that it never gets boring, and everything I’ve tried has been genuinely good. So far, I’ve never been disappointed.

๐Ÿ• Pizza

From simple classics to richer and more indulgent options, there’s something for every mood. I also love how fluffy and airy the pizza crusts are. Apparently, the raised edge of a pizza is called a “cornicione” in Italian.

๐Ÿ Pasta

Many Italian restaurants seem to focus mainly on either pizza or pasta, but BASTA does both well.

๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ If we had to choose our favorites…

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ Anders

๐Ÿ• NAPOLETANA โ€“ 255 SEK

San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Parmigiano Reggiano, pine nuts and balsamic vinegar.

๐Ÿ BIG BOY MANZO โ€“ 265 SEK

Creamy pasta with beef tenderloin, mushrooms, fresh herbs, spinach, Parmigiano Reggiano and chili flakes.

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Me

๐Ÿ• SALAME DIAVOLO โ€“ 239 SEK

San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy salami, fresh chili and mascarpone.

๐Ÿ PARADISO POLLO โ€“ 235 SEK

Chicken breast, spinach and pine nuts tossed in a creamy lemon sauce with chili flakes.

๐Ÿจ Dessert

I’m not very adventurous when it comes to desserts. If there’s no affogato, I usually don’t pay much attention to the dessert menu. However, if I had to recommend one, it would be the TIRAMISU (125 SEK). It’s generously sized and simply delicious.

The BLACK MAMBA (135 SEK) on the right comes with warm chocolate poured over it, which makes for a fun and romantic presentation. Personally, though, I would have preferred the ice cream to be a bit richer and creamier.

๐Ÿค‘ Price

In my opinion, it’s not the kind of place you’d casually visit every single day, but it’s not overly expensive either. Considering the location, food quality and service, I think it’s fairly priced.
